Blue Eyes

The small child’s eyes sparkled like a sapphire, a newly polished sapphire. They were the color of the deepest and darkest depths of the oceans, of a bright blue sky on a cloudless day. In those blue eyes were the looks of desperation, puppy-dog eyes, some call them. How could I refuse those blue eyes, those blue eyes that were framed by the blonde hair that surrounded her face?

I just couldn't bring myself to doing it.

“Alright put the sour patch kids in the cart…” I trailed off.

Those irresistible blue eyes…how could I ever turn them down?

Chase (5.9.11)

There she sat, like a royal princess, on her mother’s hip, her left thumb firmly planted in her mouth. She peered around the loud room with her big blue eyes. Silently she observes the loud, scary world. Seeing what an unruly place it is, she tightens her grip on her mother’s arm and snuggling her head closer. Without thinking, her mom strokes the curly blond head. Her head pops up again and she flashes one of her beautiful smiles as the familiar figure of her father approaches and she knows that as long as she’s with her family, she’s safe.
