{escape} 5.28.12

Just open your computer, check your email once more, read that blog again, waste your time.
Just create something, find something to make that will replace what's happening.
Jut turn on the TV. Shut off your mind. Sit there. Relax.
Just work out. Exercise so your mind shuts off.
Just escape. Escape the emotions, the pain, the sadness. Escape the present.
But I can't search my life on google and relive the past. No one is going to email me the future. I can't find what I'm missing on tv, or stop the clock, there's no escape. Everything is ending.

Tomorrow's Shadow

I’m afraid of ghosts.  Not ghosts from my past.  No.  Ghosts from my future.  The specter of things that may or may not be.  The wisping shadows that call to me from down the road.  The shimmering mists who hold out their arms, inviting me to join them, to partake of their story and splendor.

I used to cherish these ideas, the happy plans of my many tomorrows, full of cheerful sunshine.  Now, they frighten me.  The darkness has set in and the moon illuminates them for what they really are.  The future ghosts.  They are calling me.

I’m terrified.

Blank Page 5.14.2011

The blank page stared  at her. She tapped her pen on it.
The white paper was to blank. She wanted to write, but couldn’t find the right words. The white blank page stared up at her it dared, challenged her to write something.
There was so much importance behind this paper. This page was the last clean one. As in the last blank, non-recycled-seven-times page.
She wanted her words to be important. That they would last until the end of time. The strongest memory would be weaker than these words, even as they faded.
She began writing.

Remember 5.8.2011

I remember what it was like. What it was like before the world turned chaotic, before the new leader.
I remember what it was like when freedom was still at the heart of matters. Freedom was what our country was based on. Then it all changed. Gone was the freedom, and in place was put up barbed wire, sentries, and barking dogs. Speaking out against the government brought only harm against you and your family. Death mostly, or they disappear which might be death. Education and historical memory is stomped out with unrestrained vigor.
But no.
I remember it all.
