{worship} (for) 5.11.12

Let's sing the doxology before we begin”
Praise God from whom all blessings flow...
The music that ensued can't be described in words. It was more than beautiful melody. We were just students- not everyone could even carry a tune.
Praise God all creatures here below...
No, the beauty lay in something more than sound. It lay in the unity of the Spirit, the voice of worship.
Praise him above ye heavenly host...
It's broken, but beautiful. If this is only a fractured echo of His music, than what could Heaven be like?
Praise father sin and holy ghost.

{soulful} 5.23.12

soul.
the black dress she wears comes right below the knees and sparkles. the small rhinestones on her dress mirroring the lights.
soul.
her feet, which stand in expensive black christian louboutins, tap the beat of the music on the stage.
soul.
her voice fills the auditorium, her lungs projecting a beautiful melody.
soul.
the pianist behind her feels the music, his body fluidly moving in sync with his hands. he rocks, back and forth.
soul.
her face is masked with emotion as she clearly can relate to the lyrics.
soul.
it’s something about the way she stands, the way her voice falls and escalates.
she is soul.

{manhattan jungle} (for) 5.19.12

City music- bright yellow taxis, honking cars, impatient pedestrians, fresh breezes, bill boards and advertisements, doors opening and closing, smelly sewers, footsteps footsteps footsteps, bicycles whizzing by, corner musicians, traffic lights, breaks squealing, car fumes, rustling leaves
Jungle music- bugs buzzing, air still, tapping rain, monkeys squealing, snakes slithering, water gurgling, jaguars lounging, fragrant flowers, singing birds, snapping branches, deathly poisons, muddy pawprints, saturated colors, croaking frogs, new air, each animal fulfilling its own survival agenda, muggy humidity,
The city so like a jungle and the jungle so like a city. And they each have music of their own.

{mystery} 5.17.12

Her and her sister sat alone in the house after dinner. The sun was setting, but it was not yet dark. Hardly a sound penetrated the silence, only the occasional, natural sound of evening. The house was still and only a cool breeze flew in through the one open window, but even that slight movement seemed to intensify the resounding hush. They sat, both lost in thought so that neither, at first, noticed the soft twinkling melody of a music box. The older girl looked up, “Where's that music coming from?”
The younger girl hardly moved, “What music?”

(i'm going to attempt to catch up now. :)

{radio relationship} 5.4.12

The radio serenaded me on my drive home from class. Justin Beiber told me he could be my boyfriend, Adele told me that she set fire to the rain, The Wanted told me that "you cast a spell on me...and I decided you look well on me." Song after song about relationships-what the radio defines as relationship, emphasizing the physical, playing up feelings, and empowering the moment-the highlight is that one night. But God planned for something so much better. He created relationships more potent than physicality, deeper than feelings.

I don't want a radio relationship.
