Drabbles! 5-1-2012

Drabbles! Drabbles! It is the month of drabbles! And the month of moving! And the month of ending school for the summer! And more drabbles! I am so excited. This shall be a glorious month, it shall be full of writing adventures, of writing adventures with friends, of just adventures with friends! This is the first day of this month, this is the first drabble of the month! On this same day we are buying a house! And painting a room! This day always excites me, makes me unequivocally happy! This day…! - my rabbit just pee’d on my bed…  Terrific.

5.23.11 Changed Forever

He lay on his back on the hard table, his eyes gazing vacantly at the harsh lights shining down on him. A tall woman in a long white coat moved about the room, touching bottles, opening cabinets, marking paper with ink.
“It’s okay,” she said as she caught sight of his anxious face. “You’ll remember everything soon enough.”
He grunted.
She stopped her busy movements for one frightening second and laughed a cold hard laugh. “But then when it does come back, you’ll wish it never had. Everyone feels that way.”
“What have you done to me?”
“We’ve changed you.”

5.18.11 Alice

For such a well bred as woman as Alice Beckam, the changing world was a world of indecency. For a woman who had grown up sipping tea with her pinky extended and meals prepared with multiple courses, the new fad of TV dinners was a disgrace of tradition. For a woman who had flourished on leisurely moments and exact punctuality, the fast paced world of ‘modernity’ was excruciatingly flustering. For a woman who had cherished the boisterous gatherings and social connection of friends, the obsession over the giant silver screen and new tele tubes was detestable.
Also, Alice hated pumpkins.
