5.3.11-excitement
She waited for him to speak. He'd said this was important. Her heart skipped when he spoke. Finally he asked. He was so handsome.
…
He stood, waiting. She'd said she loved him. The thought of her made his heart pound. Finally the doors opened. She was so beautiful.
She waited for the music. He'd said he loved her. She wanted to skip down the aisle. Finally the doors opened. He was so handsome.
Frisbee (5.3.11)
Once, people took the trouble to play with me; once upon a time, a very long time ago. But now I lay on the ground, unwanted, unused and very lonely. I’ve been overshadowed by basketball and soccer. Some people may want to play with me, but when I come up as a suggestion, those who want to play with me quickly change their minds. I used to be popular, but not now. Now I lay, in the parking lot, waiting for someone to come with one of those homeschooler vans and run me over.
Please, won’t you play with me?
This is what a Frisbee at Classes said to me. =D

New Father (5.2.11)
Thomas paces back and forth in his fancy parlor as he hears moans and cries from the bedroom. His father puts a hand on his shoulder and says:
“Stop pacing, she’ll be fine.”
In his heart he knows these words were true. He sits on the sofa and waits. After only a second he’s up and pacing again. ”Her moans have stopped! What’s happened?” he thinks as the nursemaid, Harriet, enters the room.
“Masta?” Thomas looks at her with worry in his eyes. Harriet laughs gently, “Ya’ll go on upstairs and see the glowin’ mama and ya’lls healthy little boy.”
Swing (5.1.11)
She runs to her special swing, her long skirt billowing out behind her. She squeezes her hips into the swing that has grown smaller over the years and pushes against the ground with her feet. Slowly she sways, to and fro, higher and higher. Her skirt feels so smooth against her bare feet. She feels so free, being away from the hubbub of the world. All her worries vanish and she feels calm for the first time in a while. Hot tears push at her eyelids from the pain of the last year.
“No”, she thinks, “I refuse to cry.”
this is my first drabble ever, so please bear with me as I learn!

5.2.11 [I forgot to title it- deal]
He needed to poop.
5.2.11 twinkle - a drabble of 100 words
He was 88 years old. The wispy white hair on top of his head didn’t come close to covering his baldness. The age spots on his hands were markedly brown. He had to use a walker to get around.
There he was, laying in the hospital bed. There I stood next to him, counting out his pills. He took the little white pill cup and the small Styrofoam cup full of water and peered at me, blue eyes full of laughter.
“Are you married?” he asked.
“No,” I responded, grinning.
“If I were 60 years younger, would you marry me?”

5.2.11-lifeless
She was numb. Numb with sadness too deep for tears, too painful to comprehend. He was so still. So little and lifeless. She was supposed to be laughing at his gurgles and pleased to hold him when he cried. She was supposed to be holding the warm little baby she had carried.
For five short months.
But instead she lost every hope for joy and wished she could die. Instead she held a little lifeless infant. Her little lifeless boy. Dead. All her dreams for him died the moment he was silent.
He never even had a chance to live.
day two drabble - let's agree to be perfect
the pretty freckled girl scanning groceries at the market has a perfect smile. the perfect accompaniment to a stash of mini tangerines. she knows the latin names of all the fruits, herbs and cheeses. why bother remembering latin when no one speaks it anymore? alia angelorum and cashiers.

5.1.11-the words he spoke
The people watch intently. Jesus is back in his home town and they are eager to hear him teach. They hand him the scroll of the prophet Isaiah, and with the graceful knowledge of a rabbi he finds the passage he is searching for. The people listen eagerly as the words of their heavenly father are read. They shift as they stand in the heat and Jesus speaks, his tone is perfect. These are his father's words. He articulates a promise prophesying his own life. But though they are eager to hear his words, they are deaf to his message.
(i don't really love this...but here's my first one) :)

5.1.11 sparkle - a drabble of 100 words
She looked at her ring finger on her left hand. There was nothing on it. But his hand was holding it. She looked back up into his eyes. Suddenly, she felt something cool slip onto her finger and he was speaking. It took a moment to register his words. Her heart started to beat faster, all the way to her throat, and her eyes started to tear up. “Marry me?” he asked.
She nodded, smiling so big her face felt in danger of breaking, and threw her arms around his neck.
There, on her left hand, was a distinct sparkle.
