We knew they had come for me.
There was no escape. We knew that as well.
The sirens sang out, announcing to our world that they were
coming for me.
Mother held me close.
My sister clung to my leg.
The sirens grew closer until they were wailing outside our door.
Father pulled me from my mother’s embrace and rested his
hands on my shoulders.
“Son, look at me. Only answer questions vaguely. No matter what, don’t give names or whereabouts of any members. And don’t admit to anything they don’t suggest. We knew this would come. We trust you.”
