Wrong One

It was her first time in the drivers seat. That is, her first time in the drivers seat, keys in the ignition, feet on the pedals, and the car in drive. She eased her foot on the gas. The car lurched forwards, causing her to jump. She slowly pressed down on the break. The car stopped. She took her foot off the pedal and giggled.

“Try again when you are ready.”

She nodded and put her foot back on the pedal.

“Why isn’t the car going anywhere?” she asked exasperated. She pressed harder on the pedal. “Oh, that’s the break.”
