They had
to pay. It was important, necessary, that they felt the
consequences of what they did to him, what they made him do. The corporation had made it seem like it was his choice. But Duchovny knew he’d only
been their slave. And he had finally
broken free.
Duchovny
checked his display and sighed. Once he
had commanded professionals. Now he had
to rely on street grunts. A small price
to pay for freedom. Blackout made good
on his reputation but the hot-headed Hatchet was threatening to hose the
run. But there was a Plan B. There always was.
The plot thickens.
