The Lost Smile (for 5.17.11)

My little girl bounced into the kitchen, her blond curls dancing, and her denim jumper covered in grass stains. On her face was a frown as big as one of Saturn's rings.

“What’s the matter, honey?” I asked.

“Well, I was playing hide-and-seek outside and my smile decided it wanted a turn hiding. So I let it. But, after I counted to ten, I couldn’t find it.”

“Well, that is a problem. Do you want me to help you find it?”

“That would be great!”

I reached out and tickled my little girl.

Then she found her smile.
