I’m not making excuses.   I’ve seen the statistics:

There’s a 1 in 97 chance I’ll choke on my breakfast, a 1 in 268 I’ll drown in the shower.  The odds of tripping down the steps: 1 in 11!  

One in 88 chance of a car collision (1 in 127 I’ll lose a limb, 1 in 236 I’ll lose my life).  The office could burn down or collapse in an earthquake … and don’t get me started on meteorites – a mere 1 in 64,000!  

Who’s to say today won’t be my unlucky day?  That’s why I’m taking my chances in bed.
