I stand poised on the edge. The height is dizzying. My stomach knots in my stomach. His words echo in my mind, “You’ve never really lived until you take that jump off the cliff.”
I give it one more minute of contemplation. My twin, Keith, is the daredevil of the family and I’m fine with that. I give the cliff one last look, shake my head and back away.
“Come on, Mandy! Don’t be a spoil sport. You just gotta jump.”
“Jumping would be like begging for death!”
“No, no, jumping is living!”
With that Keith jumps off the cliff.
So good.
