Because here’s the thing. When someone does something
incredible and heroic, are they a good person? What if they turn around and do
something heinous and despicable? Does that make them a bad person?
We are mottled crude images. Neither wholly bad nor wholly
good. But streaked through with strands of each.
Is murder committed by a good person doing a bad thing?
Can death for the sake of another be committed by a bad
person doing a good thing?
How early in life can we tell whether we trend good or bad?
Even Hitler was a giggling baby once.
You so often state such great questions.
ReplyDeleteI sometimes wish you had more words to so I could watch you further explore those questions.
Thanks. I was literally falling asleep writing this one so I'm just glad it was moderately coherent. ;)
DeleteSometimes I have the most interesting thoughts when I am falling asleep. Maybe they just seem interesting to my half-asleep brain though... XD
DeleteLove it.
ReplyDeleteFor moderately coherent, it's fantastic =)
ReplyDeleteLove that last line. It also reminds me of the joke about Hitler: he wasn't all bad; he did manage to kill Hitler.
wow. this is deep....and yet attainable. and very relevant. i appreciate it. (and also for being half asleep it really makes quite a lot of sense) :)
