There were 13 of us. We walked in individually, but with purpose and all congregated in a corner of the large waiting room. The others stared, trying to figure out who we were. Finally the nearest girl asked one of us, “where do you guys go to school?”

It must've seemed strange for them to see people they had never seen before to take a test we could have, in all likelihood taken at our own school.

“We're home schooled.”

“Oh, do you like it?” As if it were some alien practice.

“Yeah, yeah, we do.”
