just like that, they are no more. {5.17.12} (part 4/5)

The house is silent.
And the room seems to be holding it’s breath, waiting for me to awake, to find out what it hides.
I cautiously place one toe out of my bed, aware the house is eerily silent and although I remember my parents coming home I cant hear anyone making oatmeal or my father crinkling the morning paper.
“mom?” I say, peering out of my bedroom door.
The breath catches in my throat.
There, standing in front of me, inches from my face is a man. At his feet lay my parents, their coats stained with a crimson red liquid. Their eyes are closed. Murdered.

My parents are dead.

Sooner than I can stop myself, I scream and the man turns to face me.
Before I can get myself together long enough to run, I feel a sharp pain in my left temple and my world becomes a puddle of nothingness.

(i know i said i was only doing 4, but i need to resolve this somehow, so i'm making it 5. thats it! promise. :))
